DRAFT INVESTMENT LAW APPROVED 

The government has approved the draft investment law, following a plenary session of the Council of Ministers chaired by Prime Minister Hun Sen via a Zoom in early July.

"The law is aimed at increasing Cambodia's potential at attracting more domestic and foreign investors," Hun Sen said, adding that peace and stability are key priorities for investors.

"We see that investors prioritise this when deciding on Cambodia as an investment destination, regardless of the global situation on politics and trade," he added.

ACTOR JACKIE CHAN DONATES OVER 1 MILLION MASKS TO CAMBODIA 

International superstar Jackie Chan has reportedly donated 1 million masks to Cambodia to help the kingdom in its fight to prevent the further spread of the pandemic.

According to the source, the supplies have already arrived in Phnom Penh, and representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia successfully handed over the masks to the Cambodia authority.

The youth division of the Cambodian People’s Party received 50,000 masks from the distribution.

PHNOM PENH TO EXPAND RADIUS BY 100 KILOMETERS TO ENLARGE POPULATION TO SIX MILLION PEOPLE BY 2035   

Phnom Penh will continue to be a central service hub in the region with a population of six million with an expanded radius of 100 km by 2035.

This is according to the master plan for land use in Phnom Penh in 2035, which was announced by the Royal Government.

The expansion of Phnom Penh, which is similar to some of the major cities in Southeast Asia, such as Bangkok which has a population of 9 million, Ho Chi Minh City with a population of 7 million, Hanoi with 8 million, Singapore with  4 million and Kuala Lumpur with 4 million people.

RATANAKIRI A HIDDEN GEM

Ratanakkiri province is the only known large scale commercially-viable source for these coveted blue zircon stones.
